The Pearl Divers is a nationwide talent discovery program implemented since 2006. Jagiellonian University Extension, training and consulting center operating at the Jagiellonian University, which has been organizing summer camps science (so-called Summer School) for gifted high school students from the communities at risk of social exclusion (the low economic status of the rural areas and small towns, with families with no tradition of studying).
The project is implemented in cooperation with local government units, which - in agreement with the subordinate schools - are responsible for the recruitment of students that meet certain criteria. By building a nationwide network of "pearl divers", the organizers also invited to collaborate socially responsible companies and institutions.
Operation of the European Talent Centre - Budapest is realised with the support of Grant Scheme No. NTP-EUT-M-12 (between 15th December 2012 and 30th June 2013) and NTP-EU-M-13 (between 31th October 2013 and 30th June 2014) and announced by the Institute for Educational Research and Development and the Human Resources Support Manager on commission of the Ministry of Human Resources “To support international experience exchange serving the objectives of the National Talent Programme, and to promote the operation and strategic further development of the European Talent Centre - Budapest”.
