The Center for Talented Youth (CTY) at Anatolia College is the result of the strategic partnership of three institutions with strong and long-lasting traditions in education and in service to society. The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (New York, USA and Athens, Greece), Anatolia College (Thessaloniki, Greece) and the Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MA, USA) are joining forces in establishing a unique center for Greece, South Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Following the aims and the experience of the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, the aim of CTY Greece at Anatolia College is to discover and educate pre-college students aged between 5 and 18 who possess special talents or skills, who stand out with their performance in and out of school or who share a common passion for learning and education above and beyond the confines of the school curriculum. The Center for Talented Youth at Anatolia welcomes all such students and will offer them support and advice, a summer school at the college campus in Thessaloniki, Greece weekend programs/courses in Thessaloniki and elsewhere, as well as online courses.
All CTY programs will commence in 2014, while the first Talent Search Campaign (using the Johns Hopkins SCAT examination) took place during the 2013-2014 winter. The working language for the summer school is English, while there will be online courses and weekend programs in Greek and in English (at least) in the future.
The Center for Talented Youth at Anatolia College will develop the students’ desire to learn, broaden their knowledge horizons and deepen their inquiring spirit with advanced level courses of great interest. These courses will assist students in cultivating their talents and inclinations and in making the right choice for their further education and future profession, so that they can, in turn, contribute to the common good of society.
