As a statewide advocacy group, Colorado Association for Gifted and Talented is focused on improving the lives of gifted students. This is accomplished in four main areas: 1) by helping people understand the characteristics of gifted students, 2) by training teachers in different strategies to create dynamic classrooms that challenge and engage gifted students, 3) by providing families with information on how to advocate for the unique needs (both academic and affective) of their gifted students, and 4) by supporting statewide and national laws and policies that assure gifted and talented students access to appropriate academic programs. |

The North-Backa Talent Point gained its outstanding status in 2010. Since 1996, within the scope of the Association of Pedagogues of North-Backa, the Coffman Judit School for Talented Students works with the aim to propagate natural sciences, in particular Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, in elementary schools. It organizes its lectures at weekends for all those pupils who are interested in those fields of science and are already selected by their teachers and schools. These children commonly take part and quite often do very well in various science competitions and the experience shows that many of them choose this career when they have to decide how to continue their studies. |

It is a private elementary school donated by the Ioannis Latsis family. Since the academic year of 1995-1996, the Latsio Elementary School has moved from Psychico to Kantza area and its new building and acquired its current name. Since four years, the school has designed and implemented an effective enrichment program on math for gifted/talented students. The group of teachers that run the program along with the School chair and the program coordinator support it with commitment and strong motivation. Additionally, the school organizes parents’ seminars on gifted and talented students’ needs. |
