Asia-Pacific Federation on Giftedness (APFG) is a non-profit organization for the development and education of gifted and talented children in Asia-Pacific region. APFG consists of scholars, teachers, parents of G/T children, and others who are interested in development of gifted and talented children and gifted education. The preexistence of APFG was Asia-Pacific Federation which was established in 1990 in manila, Indonesia. Then the APF became affiliated to the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children (WCGTC) in 1994. APF became an independent organization in 2010 and changed its name into APFG. Members of the APFG largely come from Australia, Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR of China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan China, Thailand, and United Arab Emirates. |

In his Policy Address delivered in October 2006, the Chief Executive announced the establishment of an Academy for Gifted Education (the HKAGE) to provide more structured, articulated and challenging off-site programmes for students with exceptional talent, and to promote the concepts and practices of gifted education to support teachers and parents. The Legislative Council Panel on Education discussed in November 2006 the Administration’s proposal to provide financial support for the setting up of the Academy. The HKAGE informally started its planning and preparatory work in early 2008 when the Executive Director took up his post. Delivery of its services started in September 2008 with the migration of responsibility for student programmes and parent support from EDB to the HKAGE and the beginning of the Academy’s own programmes. The HKAGE is structured to provide information, support and advice to three main stakeholder groups in Hong Kong: students, teachers and parents. Since early 2012, research has been added to the portfolio of support. |

Amoeba offers educational opportunities for the youth nationally including trainings, clubs, student camps, competitions and examinations. Besides this, the foundation organizes health management courses for GPs, high standard informatics trainings for teenagers and adults, professional teacher trainings, entrepreneurial trainings for small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, and trainings for international exams. The Foundation has been a member of the National Talent Support Council (Hungary) since 2007 and it is a founding member of the Hungarian Federation of Talent Support Organisations. In the network of talent points established by the Council in 2008, Amoeba Foundation has been present as registered talent point since 2009 and as accredited talent point since 2011. The Foundation contributed to boost talent support in Transylvania from the beginnings; it was the initiator of the Transylvanian Talent Support Council and was offered a prize of “Cultural Freedom” by the General Education Inspectorate for its achievements in the field of education in 2000. |
